After The Flood season 2 filming locations across the North West

Set in the fictional Yorkshire town of Waterside, much of ITV’s After The Flood series two was filmed across Greater Manchester, Derbyshire and the Lake District.

The historic Derbyshire town of Glossop doubles as Waterside, as its cobbled streets, stone buildings and parish church appear in many key scenes.

Even Waterside Police Station was filmed at a recently closed NatWest bank in the town.

Bury’s historical pub and Parish Church have a starring role in the drama too, with key scenes filmed in the town centre.

Character Molly’s home can also be spotted on Old Cross Street in Old Glossop.

A looming wildfire and the risk of flooding add tension for the town’s residents.

The dramatic moors were filmed near Wardle and Rochdale, capturing the wild beauty and danger of northern landscapes.

And in April filming took place in Tandle Hill park in Oldham for a couple of days for night shoots involving “fire effects”.

Fans of scenic spots will recognise Jackdaw Quarry in the Lake District, where Jo and her baby watch Molly wild-swim in the opening episode.

The quarry’s rocky lake makes for a stunning cinematic backdrop.

Jo and Pat, navigating both a divorce and corrupt bosses, meet in secret at a local park filmed in Alderley Edge.

The grand house belonging to Alan Benson was filmed in Clitheroe.

For those keen to follow in the detectives’ footsteps, many of these filming locations are just a short drive away from Bolton.

The drama also stars two Bolton actors, Matthew McNulty and Roger Morlidge.

After The Flood launched on ITV1 on Sunday, 18 January 2026.
