Alan Carr squeals 'oh no' during first TV interview since Celebrity Traitors

The One Show hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp left Alan Carr squirming on Thursday’s show

The One Show hosts Roman Kemp and Alex Jones had Alan Carr cringing on Thursday evening during his first television appearance since The Celebrity Traitors.

Earlier this month, Alan, 49, who was selected as a Traitor, claimed victory in the inaugural series of BBC One’s The Celebrity Traitors.

Roman, 32, declared during their conversation: “We have to relive one of the greatest television moments I think probably of all time. If you haven’t seen this, this is your spoiler!”

This left Alan squirming as the clip was about to air, with him objecting: “Oh no, oh no!” whilst covering his mouth with his hand.

Meanwhile, Alex, 48, supported co-presenter Roman regarding the footage, prompting him to announce: “We have to relive that winning moment!” as it was broadcast on the programme, reports Wales Online.

At the programme’s opening, Alex disclosed that this marked Alan’s first television interview following his Celebrity Traitors triumph.

During another segment of the show, Alan discussed his victory, remarking: “Everyone was surprised!

“People don’t know this, my own agent had booked in work the first week. They went: ‘You’re not going to last in there with your motor mouth!’

“So I had to ring up and cancel work, ring up my dog walker and say ‘I’m not coming back!’ I thought I’d be out first! I can’t keep a secret!”

The concluding episode featured merely five celebrities remaining from the initial 19. Traitors Cat Burns and Alan, alongside Faithfuls Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga made it to the finale.

Following a nail-biting roundtable, only David, Nick and Alan remained standing, with David and Nick convinced that Alan was a Faithful just like themselves.

But Alan was then compelled to reveal to the pair that he was actually a Traitor and had triumphed in the programme, leaving him breaking down in tears.

Alan wept: “It’s been tearing me apart, I’m so sorry. I’m an awful human being.”

The duo comforted him with words like “you did brilliantly” and “it’s alright”.

Alan’s selected charity, Neuroblastoma UK, will receive the entire prize fund, with the final jackpot totalling £87,500.

The One Show continues on weeknights at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
