“I think myself and Niamh have a fantastic relationship. We know each other inside and out,” said Glass last year after the pair went into business together

Derry GAA star Conor Glass enjoyed a major milestone off the field as he married his long-time partner Niamh O’Donnell in a ceremony at the luxurious Castle Leslie in County Monaghan.

The couple, who became engaged in January 2024, celebrated the occasion surrounded by family, friends and teammates, bringing the curtain down on a memorable year for the pair. In mid-2025, they welcomed their baby son, Con, into the world.

Castle Leslie Estate is famous for weddings, with a huge boost coming after Beatles star Paul McCartney’s 2002 wedding at the venue which boasts stunning grounds and a historic charm and exceptional dining.

Glass proposed to his long-term girlfriend Niamh in January 2024 at the luxurious Adare Manor in County Limerick.

Widely regarded as one of Derry’s most influential players of his generation, Glass has been central to the county’s recent success since his return from a spell in Australian Rules.

Glass won a senior club All-Ireland with Watty Graham’s Glen and was named AIB GAA Club Player of the Year that year (2024). At county level he has won two Ulster titles alongside an All-Star award (2022).

His club shared a message for the happy couple online, stating: “Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Glass. Wishing Conor & Naimh many years of happiness, from all in Glen.”

Just last year Glass opened up about going into business and working with his then girlfriend. The couple started Café 3121, an Australian style cafe in Maghera, County Derry together.

He told RSVP Live: “I’ve definitely not made it easy on myself. I’m in my final year at university as well. It’s my personality. I’m very laid back in terms of I don’t tend to overthink things too much. The support network of having your family and friends. Thankfully, my girlfriend is a partner in the cafe.

“Anytime I’m at training or the matches, she’s there keeping the cafe running. It’s passing the baton off to them when it needs be.”

Conor and Niamh had conversations about how their relationship would work while co-owning a cafe together.

He explained: “It came up during the initial conversation of opening a cafe. I think myself and Niamh have a fantastic relationship. We know each other inside and out.

“One thing we try to do is not take our work home. It can be hard sometimes, if you have a bad day at work, but that’s just human nature. You’ll be taking it home to your family, your mother or such when you do have a bad day.

“I can’t stress enough that it’s been the best thing for us to go into business together, because I can pass over the responsibility to Niamh and fully trust her that she’s going to do the right thing. It just comes down to the relationship that both of us have and the trust we have in each other.”
