It’s back down to £19.99 in a limited time deal, matching its Black Friday price
Amazon’s Fire TV Stick series has enjoyed popularity over the years, with several models released in a sometimes-confusing line up. Prices have increased, so it’s refreshing to see the company’s latest TV streaming gadget back at its lowest price yet, matching the discounts we saw for it on Black Friday.
The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Select, which was only launched in October, is currently available for just £19.99 from Amazon (where else?), matching its price during last month’s sales.
It’s unclear why the retailer has chosen to slash the price of its newest Fire TV Stick again, but we’re certainly not complaining. It typically retails for £49.99, but you can now snap it up for a penny shy of £20 – a steal.
The advantage here lies in the name. Not all Fire TV Sticks can stream 4K content on 4K compatible TVs, but this one can, reports the Express.
Simply plug it into an HDMI port on your telly, connect it to the mains, and you can stream to your heart’s content over Wi-Fi using familiar apps, from Prime Video to Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Disney+, Apple TV, YouTube and many more.
You can even access Xbox Game Pass via this version of the TV Stick, allowing you to play some gaming titles with a subscription – even if you don’t own an Xbox.
Whilst the Fire TV Stick 4K Select streams in 4K HDR, it doesn’t support Dolby Vision standards, which you might want if you’re an audio/visual expert, but most people won’t be troubled by that absence. The Fire TV Stick 4K and Fire TV Stick 4K Max offer that feature if you really want it.

The Fire TV Stick 4K Select also arrives with the Alexa Voice Remote enabling you to press the Alexa button and operate your TV using voice commands, though it can also manage smart home gadgets such as lights, thermostats and even smart cameras like the Ring doorbell range. The latter can display who’s at your door directly onto your television – Ring belongs to Amazon, so everything functions smoothly.
Previously, Fire TV Sticks have proved popular as users have been able to sideload Android apps from alternative sources onto them to view content from beyond the Amazon app store. This has now been prevented by Amazon, and only apps within the company’s store can be downloaded, shutting this popular workaround and usage of the TV Stick.
However, if you simply want to stream from mainstream apps or are frustrated with how slow the apps on your smart TV have become, this Fire TV Stick 4K Select for £19.99 represents excellent value. It’s straightforward to use and provides a swift and reliable method to get your TV streaming with minimal hassle.
Amazon states this price is a “limited time deal” so we’re uncertain how long this discount will continue.
