Appeal for man spotted with ‘large knife’ in James Street
North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after a man was seen running around a busy area just outside York city centre with what looked to be a ‘large knife’
It happened at 3.45pm on Sunday November 16 in James Street, between Morrisons and Lidl link road, and a man was seen running into the bushes with what looked like a large knife.

Police said the suspect is described as a man in his late teens, approximately 5ft 11in, slim build, with medium length dark hair; he was last seen wearing a green t-shirt, black trouser bottoms and black trainers.
“We’re particularly appealing for information about a man seen at the same time matching the description above, and also if anyone was passing by at the time, either on foot or in a vehicle with dashcam,” said a spokesperson for the force.
