Coronation Court in Tranent was taped off before two arrests were made
Armed police rushed to a Scots street today following reports of a man being in possession of a weapon. The incident took place on Coronation Court near Elphinstone Road in Tranent in East Lothian around 1.20pm.
Edinburgh Live reported earlier that police descended on the area and taped off the road. A passer-by said: “I was driving past when it all started.
“There were a few police vehicles there and two officers outside the flats. When I got back from shopping, they had blocked the whole road off. I saw the tape on the fence.”
Police confirmed two men have been arrested and enquiries are ongoing. A spokesperson said: “Around 1.20pm on Sunday, 30 November, we received a report of a man believed to be in a possession of a weapon in Coronation Court, Tranent.
“Firearms officers, along with local officers attended. Two men aged 57 and 46 have been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
