Belmont Road closed due to icy conditions, officials say

Belmont Road, between the reservoir and the High Street, is currently closed due to ice.

A reporter at the scene said there have also been reports of a crash involving a motorcyclist on the road close to Bolton Sailing Club. Police vehicles were spotted on the road. Police have been approached for confirmation.

Officers say the road is likely to reopen later today.

A spokesperson for Blackburn with Darwen Roads said: “Please be advised that Belmont Road, between the reservoir and the High Street, is currently closed due to ice.

“It’s likely to open later today. Please drive carefully.”
