B&M to open new store in Middlesbrough as opening date set

B&M will open in the Hillstreet shopping centre in the town centre, in the former OneBeyond unit.

A premises licence application states the store will open on February 6, 2026.

B&M has more than 700 stores across the UK. The Middlesbrough site will sell a range of products including food, electricals, homeware, furniture, DIY and gardening products.

The application confirms the store will sell alcohol “as an ancillary to its food sales”. It states that “alcohol is not discounted, nor is it advertised in store windows, or in the press” and that “alcohol is not cooled at the point of sale”.

The license application, submitted to Middlesbrough Council on December 19, seeks permission to sell booze between 7am and 11pm, seven days a week.

The store’s opening hours are also listed as 7am to 11pm.

‘Coming soon’ signs appeared in the shopping centre on earlier this month.

The retailer says it has opened 45 new stores across the UK this year in locations including Bishop Auckland, Berwick, and Carlisle.
