Bolton’s best curry house scoops award for second time
The Bolton News Best Curry House competition asked readers to nominate their favourite establishments for the much-loved cuisine in our area.
The votes are officially in and the winner has been announced.
The Pavilion in Astley Bridge has been named as The Bolton News’ Best Curry House 2025, for the second year in a row.
Owner, Abdul Hannan, thanked customers for their loyal support and said it has been a “big help” for the business.
The Blackburn Road restaurant won the public vote last year, proving its worth on the town’s curry scene.
The restaurant has been serving up tasty dishes to its keen customer base since 1997, having always been based at its corner location on the Blackburn Road crossroads.
Its growing popularity saw it expand seven years later, and it can serve food to 100 people at once.
Manager Santos Balakrishnan from Bolton added: “It means a lot to us to win for a second time.
“It was voted for by customers and their support is always appreciated.”

There is also a selection of Biryani dishes on offer, with well fried onion cooked with basmati rice and a little spice, dressed in an omelette, with tomatoes on top and mixed vegetable curry.
