Boroughbridge: Dog kicked unconscious in canal attack
The county’s police force said it happened near a lock in Milby Island, close to Boroughbridge around 10.30am on Saturday, December 27, when the dog was kicked in the head.
The animal suffered a cut above the eye and was seen by a vet.

The dog’s owner told police the attack was “unprovoked” and the man – who was walking a “large, black, fluffy dog” – also acted aggressively towards them, before walking away from the scene.
North Yorkshire Police issued and appeal for information and a description of a man who is described as white, aged in his 40s, around 6 feet one inch, with an athletic build and wearing long boots.
