Police enquiries are continuing
A boy was rushed to hospital tonight with injuries after a hit-and-run moped collision.
The rider of the moped failed to stop at the scene, Greater Manchester Police confirmed as investigations continued.
Emergency services were called to Denton in Tameside at around 6pm on Saturday night after reports of a collision.
It happened on Circular Road, near to its junctions with Bramhall Walk and Kedleston Walk.
Police said the boy, who hasn’t been named, was taken to hospital, but thankfully his injuries were not said by GMP to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Road closures were put in place around the area, but they have now been fully lifted.
In a statement to the Manchester Evening News, GMP said: “We responded to reports of a collision between a child pedestrian and moped on Circular Road, Denton at 6pm this evening (20 December 2025).
“The child was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries not described as life threatening or changing.
“The moped is thought to have left the scene and enquiries are ongoing. The road closures have been lifted.”
It’s understood police enquiries are ongoing.
No age for the boy has been released.
No further details have been confirmed and there’s been no reports of any arrests in connection with the incident.
