Breightmet: Firefighters rescue man from house fire
Police, fire and paramedics were called to Lorton Grove, with police remaining on the scene.
The alarm was raised at 3pm, with fire crews remaining on the scene for a number of hours
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Recue Service (GMFRS) said: “At shortly before 3pm on Friday (December 5) three fire engines from Bolton and Farnworth fire stations were called to a fire at a terraced bungalow on Lorton Grove, Breightmet

“Firefighters rescued one man from the property before handing them to the care of colleagues from North West Ambulance Service. The fire was extinguished using hose reels with the area made safe by crews. GMFRS were in attendance for just over two hours.”

The property remains cordoned off with a police officer on the scene as investigations into the cause of the fire get underway.
A police van remains on scene, with neighbours bringing out hot drinks.
Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information on the incident.
