For anyone who has ever been caught out with a flat or under inflated tyre, there is now a brilliant little gadget up for grabs that could be a lifesaver. Designed with ease of use in mind, this easy to use tyre inflator takes the stress out of tyre maintenance, whether it’s at home, on the road or heading off on a long journey.

The AstroAI Tyre Infllator Air Compressor device costs £19.99 on Amazon. The inflator has a range of features including a large digital screen that shows tyre pressure in real time, allowing for clear and accurate readings during inflation.

This digital display reduces the likelihood of misreading pressure values compared to traditional dial style pumps, according to the website. Users can also set a target tyre pressure using the + and – buttons and once the preset pressure is reached, the inflator automatically stops, helping prevent overinflation.

Operation requires starting the vehicle, plugging the unit into a 12V car outlet, connecting the hose to the tyre and selecting the desired pressure. For tyres sized 185/55 R14, the inflator can increase pressure from 30 PSI (a unit of measurement of pressure) to 36 PSI in under one minute and inflate from 0 PSI to 36 PSI in under five minutes.

It includes a 0.48 air hose and a 3m power cord, providing reach to all tyres on most vehicles. An integrated LED light also turns on automatically when the unit is powered, supporting use in low light or roadside situations.

Argos also has the Ring ULTRAINFLATE 10 Analogue Tyre Inflator for £16 down from 20. This has the ability to inflate a 13 inch tyre in just four minutes and can ‘deliver precision and efficiency for every journey’ according to the Argos website.

The AstroAI Tyre Inflator has been rated a high 4.5 out of 5 stars from over 9,000 reviews and it has become an Amazon’s Choice product. One person said: “Brilliant air pump! Easy to use and got me out of a tricky situation, it worked quickly too, and whilst it is noisy, because of how fast it filled up my tyres, I wasn’t bothered by that.”

Another wrote: “I bought this to inflate my tyres on my trailer, they run at very high pressures (95psi), I thought this small pump would struggle, but no it performed brilliantly! I hope it doesn’t let me down in future, but as of now it’s a great purchase!”.

A third commented: “Absolutely love this tyre inflator! It’s compact, powerful, and super easy to use. Inflated my tyres in minutes and the digital display is clear and accurate. The auto shut-off feature gives peace of mind and prevents over-inflation. A must-have car accessory. Perfect for emergencies or regular top-ups. Highly recommend!”

A couple of people had small concerns for example: “Great little machine it beats having to pay at garages for air. Easy to use. Personally I would like the hose lead that fits onto the tyre a little bit longer in length. However I would still have no hesitation in recommending this product.” Another said: “Works really well and easy to set up only downside is that the air filler hose is way too short.”
