Brooklyn accused Victoria of dancing ‘inappropriately’ on his big day
Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding DJ has spoken out about what really happened after his mother, Victoria, was accused of “hijacking” her son’s first dance with new wife Nicola Peltz
The eldest son of golden couple Victoria and David issued a bombshell statement this week, in which he made a host of claims regarding his parent, which seemed to confirm rumours following Brooklyn’s wedding to Nicola, the daughter of US billionaire Nelson Peltz, in 2022.
The lengthy Instagram post on Monday (January 19) saw the aspiring chef and photographer say that he does not want to “reconcile” with his family as he claimed that his parents control narratives about his family in the press and tried to “ruin” his relationship with his wife. The Beckhams have not officially responded to the accusations.
Among his claims, Brooklyn said Victoria “hijacked” his first dance with bride Nicola, 31, at their wedding. “Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,” he wrote in the posts.
“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment.”
Now, DJ Fat Tony has shed light on the headline-making moment, having performed at the wedding. Appearing on This Morning on Friday (January 23), he said that he DJed the wedding brunch, commenting: “I was the DJ at the wedding, it was a three day party. I did the brunch on Sunday, which was the most awkward part of it all. Everything that happened was discussed.”
Moving specifically to Victoria’s dance, Tony explained: “There was no s**t dropping, there was no PVC catsuit, there was no Spice Girls actions. The word inappropriate – why I said it was inappropriate as well because it was the timing.”
He added that Marc Anthony called Brooklyn to the stage and then asked “the most beautiful woman in the room” to join him, before naming Victoria. “At that point, Brooklyn is devastated because he thought he was going to do his first dance with his wife,” Tony said.
“Nicola leaves the room crying her eyes out. Marc says, ‘Put your hands on your mother’s hips!’ It was a latin thing and that whole situation was awkward for everyone in the room.
He added: “I’ve gone to an awful lot of Beckham parties in the past, they’re a very dancey close knit family, they love to dance. What we deem as inappropriate is not how Brooklyn feels. If he thought it was inappropriate and awkward, then it was inappropriate.
“What’s sad is that this is the bit that everyone’s taken from the statement, and kind of white washed everything else that went on. It’s taken a lot for someone to go to social media, when your life is lived out on social media… he wanted to change the narrative. For all of his life he’s been called ‘Nepo Baby’, and ‘he should be grateful that he’s got the family name’.. But that’s what he was born into, y’know. I think what we’re all missing here is the fact that parents have lost their child, and a son has lost his parents…”
