Nowhere in Cambridgeshire made it into the top 20 happiest places, but one city was listed among the bottom 20 ‘least happy’ places to live
A Cambridgeshire city has been named among the least happy places to live in Great Britain. Peterborough comes in among the 20 least happy places to live, according to data from Rightmove.
Of the 220 places on the list, ranked from happiest to least happy, Peterborough came in at number 213. The least happy places to live include Barking and Dagenham, Newham, Havering, Rochester, Walsall, Luton, and Enfield.
The list also reveals the happiest places to live – but nowhere in Cambridgeshire made it into the top 20. The highest-ranking place in Cambridgeshire was Huntingdon, coming in at number 68 on the list. Ely came in at 101, while Cambridge ranked 140.
The North Yorkshire market town of Skipton tops the list, with its bustling cobbled high street, ancient castle and canal-side pubs. Richmond upon Thames is second, followed by Camden and the North Yorkshire spa town of Harrogate.
A Rightmove spokesperson said: “Each year we ask thousands of people across Great Britain how they feel about where they live. Feeling happy at home isn’t just about the property. It’s also about the wider area, the community, and how close you are to the things which matter most.”
