The council is trying to track down the owner of the vehicle
A car has been left in a ditch along a Cambridgeshire road for a month. Cambridgeshire Police were first called to a single-vehicle crash at the junction of London Road and Broadway in Yaxley at around 6pm on November 19.
Officers said “no injuries were sustained” and recovery of the vehicle has been left with “owners/other agencies”. Since then, the car has remained in a ditch with police tape around it.
Huntingdonshire District Council is trying to find the owner of the vehicle to have it removed. A council spokesperson said: “We are aware of the vehicle at the junction of Broadway and London Road in Yaxley.
“Council officers are currently attempting to identify and contact the registered owner. Once the owner is located, they will be given seven days to remove the vehicle.
“If it is not collected within this period, the council will remove it from the location and treat it as abandoned. We appreciate the patience of residents while this process is completed.”
HDC is responsible for removing vehicles that have been deemed “abandoned”. However, the removal of this vehicle was referred to the council after no further action was taken by the police.
