Police are at the scene while structural engineers are also attending

A car has smashed into a house on a quiet street in Swansea with such force that it’s led to worries over the structural integrity of the property. Police are at the scene at Cwrt y Cadno in the Birchgrove area of the city on Tuesday afternoon while structural engineers are also attending.

An eyewitness said a motorist in a white Range Rover appears to have accidentally reversed into the side of a house, causing significant structural damage to the side of the property. South Wales Police has issued an update to say their officers and other emergency services are in attendance at a property.

A spokesperson for the force added: “Please avoid the area while emergency services attend to this incident.” No injuries have been sustained and the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

In pictures seen by WalesOnline the back of the car has gone through an external wall at the side of a semi-detached home on the street, destroying a gate and a wall between the house and the car in the process. Pictures show a large hole in the wall too.
