The homeowner had applied for a certificate of lawful development so planners could decide if it fell within permitted development rules.
Permitted development rules allow for some smaller extensions to be approved without the need for full planning permission.
Town planners found the proposed works to fall within these rules, and granted the homeowner a certificate of lawful development.
