Co Armagh road closed as car ‘stranded in water’ and several other routes affected

A road closure is currently in place at several locations

A Co Armagh road has been closed this morning due to flooding.

The Markethill Road in Tandragee has a closure in place, close to the junction of Cooley Hill. One car is currently stranded in the water, according to reports, and PSNI have been approached for comment.

Traffic Watch Northern Ireland have also posted a warning about road conditions across the region this morning.

They said: “Some roads across Northern Ireland have a build-up of surface water which is causing flooding and challenging driving conditions.

“A number of reports have been received of flooded roads after yesterday’s yellow rain warning. Please take slow down and take extra care when travelling.”

Other roads reportedly affected by include the Shanco Road near Clogher which has been closed in both directions due to an embankment slip.
