Police Scotland believe that the man died on Sunday night or in the early hours of Monday morning.

Cops have been carrying out enquiries and checking CCTV. They are seeking information about a person seen in the area around 10.35pm on Sunday night.

Detective Superintendent Hendry added: “Footage shows a person wearing a dark jacket with the hood up and dark trousers in the area of Shields Court. “We would ask people to contact us if they saw anything suspicious or the person described, between 10.15pm and 10.45pm on Sunday, 14 December. “If you have any CCTV, private footage or dash-cam footage that may have captured something of significance, please contact us. Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could be vital.”

Speaking at the scene of the crime, cousin Samuel Durnion, 27, told the Record he found Jordan lying on the couch with a cover over his body. He said: “My mum came to visit Jordan last night, but the door looked as though it had been booted in. She called me and I came down.

“When I went in, it looked like Jordan was sleeping and he had a cover over him, but his eyes were open, as though I had just woken him up.

“When I touched him, he was stiff. I pulled the cover back and it looked like he had been shot by a shotgun.”

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Superintendent Grant Hendry of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said: “From our enquiries so far, we believe the man died late on Sunday night, 14 December, or in the early hours of Monday, 15. “He was discovered in the flat on Monday afternoon, and police were called. “We are of the opinion this is a targeted attack with no wider threat to the public. “Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 2147 of Monday, 15 December. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. “An online portal has been set up to encourage members of the public to submit information directly to officers. The Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP) is a website that gives the public access to a form to pass information, images and footage directly to the Major Investigation Team and can be accessed here: Public Portal

Local area commander, Chief Inspector Steven Conn, said: “I understand there will be concern in the local community following this incident. There will be an increased police presence in the area and anyone with concerns can speak to officers. “We would ask the public to be mindful of not speculating on the circumstances as this can affect the investigation and possible future legal proceedings.”
