An engaged couple discovered a hidden attic in their new home and they couldn’t believe their luck when they found what they claimed to be a ‘dream’ item hiding inside
Buying a property together as a couple represents an exciting milestone in any relationship. But for one engaged pair, their house-buying experience took an unexpected turn when they uncovered a secret attic space in their new home.
Kaitlyn Ostolaza and her fiancé completed the purchase of their Illinois home last summer. However it would be several months before they stumbled upon the remarkable discovery. The couple learned their house contained an additional, hidden attic space and couldn’t wait to explore.
Whilst most of what they encountered appeared to be items abandoned by former residents – including damaged tennis rackets and swimming pool equipment – one particular object immediately caught their attention.
Kaitlyn began filming a TikTok clip to share her unexpected find with viewers. She wrote alongside the footage: “POV You bought a house with your fiancé and find a wedding dress in the attic.”
The footage captured her fiancé carefully descending the ladder whilst carrying the dress. It then transitions to Kaitlyn unveiling the box, revealing an elegant long-sleeved lace bridal gown.
Kaitlyn displays the dress, showing off its lengthy train embellished with delicate floral details. She also presented the rear of the wedding garment, which features an extended row of buttons.
The front of the dress is decorated with intricate lace detailing across the torso and sleeves. A matching veil accompanied the gown, which Kaitlyn ensured she modelled in the video.
Thrilled by her discovery, Kaitlyn wrote in the video’s caption: “This is not the previous owners wedding dress… Hoping to use something left behind as my something borrowed for our wedding. I just know whoever wore this dress looked amazing in it. The train is everything.”
However, whilst Kaitlyn was clearly delighted with the find, some viewers expressed reservations in the comment section.
One wrote: “Am I the only one that is scared it was left there because it’s cursed? Don’t put it on!” And another warned: “You know this is how horror movies start aye?”.
Despite these worries, many others matched her enthusiasm. After all, stumbling upon such a stunning dress whilst planning your wedding isn’t something that happens every day!
“Girl if it your size! It’s meant to be,” one person said. Someone else wrote: “Omggggg I’d wear that in a HEARTBEAT.”
A third person added: “I thought I had my dream dress, I was wrong.”
