Crash: Station Avenue at Leeman Road junction. Bus and car

Advent calendars stolen from Nunnery Lane Car Park

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for information after an elderly bus passenger suffered a broken pelvis in a crash close to York station yesterday lunchtime (December 30).

It happened between 11.25am and 11.35am in Station Avenue, at the junction with Leeman Road, and involved a single decker bus and an orangey-red coloured car, which did not stop at the scene.

The injured passenger, who is aged in her 80s, had her pelvis broken and is being treated in hospital.

“The driver of the car may not have realised they had been involved in a serious injury collision. If this was you or you know who it could be, please get in touch without delay,” said a spokesperson for the force.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident, anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the incident, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to get in touch with them.
