Darren Fletcher refuses to reveal whether or not he will play twin sons Jack and Tyler in Man Utd clash with Burnley

DARREN FLETCHER is staying tight-lipped about the prospect of giving his twins a pop in the Manchester United first team tonight.

The Scotsman is in the unusual position of managing both of his sons – Jack and Tyler, 18 – having taken temporary charge of the team since Ruben Amorim’s sacking.

“They were in the training group on Monday, that was already arranged before I got there. They’ve been in the squad recently.

“We’ve got some players coming back from injury so we’ll assess that tomorrow. We still have to assess a couple of players tomorrow because of the short turnaround from games.

“They [the twins] are in the periphery squad but whether they make the match squad, I don’t know yet. That remains to be seen.”

Under-18s head coach Fletcher, 41, is one of three United legends in contention to take interim charge of the Red Devils until the end of the season.

Michael Carrick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have also been interviewed, while Ruud van Nistelrooy is an outside shout.

But Fletcher is determined to enjoy it while he can and help United steady the ship until longer-term arrangements are made.

He said: “It’s surreal, it’s an amazing honour to be able to lead a Manchester United team.

“I didn’t think in my wildest dreams that was something that could happen. It’s all happened so quickly.

“Everyone expects Manchester United to be on top and winning – that’s what we have to achieve and I will do my best in whatever role to make that happen.”
