David Beckham couldn’t resist teasing his Arsenal-supporting son Romeo on Instagram after Manchester United’s dramatic 3-2 victory over the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium
David Beckham has posted about an exchange with his son Romeo on Instagram after Manchester United’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Arsenal. The former United winger has endured a turbulent week following Brooklyn’s scathing attack on his parents.
Brooklyn, David and Victoria’s eldest child, published a series of Instagram stories on Monday criticising his mum and dad. The 26 year old declared he had no desire to reconcile with his family in a six-page statement.
In his statement, Brooklyn accused his parents of manipulating the media narrative surrounding his family and attempting to sabotage his marriage to wife Nicola Peltz Beckham. It’s believed the three are no longer in contact.
Nevertheless, Beckham maintains communication with Romeo. The 23 year old is the sole member of Beckham’s children to pursue football, having featured in Arsenal’s youth system before moving to Inter Miami and Brentford B.

Romeo is a well-known Arsenal fan, and on Sunday, his father used social media to tease the Gunners following United’s first Emirates Stadium triumph since 2017. Posting an image of himself celebrating his famous halfway line strike against AFC Wimbledon in 1996, he captioned it: “You ok Romeo,” alongside some love hearts, reports the Mirror.
He then followed that up with another picture of him celebrating a goal during his playing days at United. “As the Boss would say ‘squeeky bum time’,” he wrote. “That Gap is getting smaller.”
Romeo was quick to respond to his dad on his own Instagram page. Posting the Premier League table, which shows Arsenal above United by 12 points, he wrote: “don’t get too gassed. Mind the gap.”
United’s victory over Arsenal puts Michael Carrick’s side within the top four positions. Since taking over from Ruben Amorim, the former midfielder has defeated the Premier League’s top two in Arsenal and Manchester City.
