Delph featured on Coronation Street ahead of Corriedale

The episode is gearing up for the historic hour-long Corriedale crossover episode with Emmerdale, due to air on January 5.

One of the hotel’s recognisable features, the ornate gazebo used for outdoor wedding ceremonies, can be seen in Friday’s episode as Kevin Webster and his ex Abi confront each other following her affair.

Delph’s picturesque rolling hills and scenic views can also be seen throughout the episode.

From the trailers released for the crossover episode, it appears as though the storyline will follow directly on from the wedding.

They show the two soaps literally colliding in a horrific car crash, with characters from both in danger as a result.

In one trailer, Kevin can be seen searching for his sister Debbie among the flames of the crash site.

We also see Coronation Street’s Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey), a paramedic, assist Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle, played by Oldham actor Jeff Hordley.

The characters confirmed to be featuring in the crossover include Kit Green, James Bailey, Asha Alahan, Carla Connor, Shona Platt, David Platt, Lisa Swain and Tracy Barlow from Coronation Street, alongside Cain Dingle, Sarah Sugden, Charity Dingle, Jacob Gallagher, Robert Sugden, Joe Tate, Liam Cavanagh and Aaron Dingle from Emmerdale.

Geographically, it makes sense for Saddleworth to be the location of the Corriedale episode, as it would be situated between the fictional towns of Weatherfield in Manchester and Emmerdale in Yorkshire.

However, according to ITV, the special episode was filmed in October on a disused road in Harrogate during a three-week, 12-night shoot.

Corriedale will air on ITV at 8pm on January 5. It will come after separate episodes of Emmerdale and Coronation Street at 7pm and 7.30pm respectively.

The crossover episode will not be available on ITVX before it has been aired, the other two episodes will be.

After Corriedale has aired at 9pm, there will be a special behind-the-scenes show on ITV3, ITVX and YouTube.
