Drivers are warned about roadworks taking place in Lanark

They will start at 8am on Monday, November 24, and are expected to last for seven days.

Essential carriageway patching works are to take place near Lanark next week.

The work will take place on the A706 between the railway crossing and Harelaw roundabout.

A diversion will be in place via: A721, A70 Lanark Road, A743, A706 and vice-versa.

Head of South Lanarkshire Council’s Roads, Fleet and Transportation Services, Colin Park, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience that may occur during these essential road improvement works.

“We would request that all road users allow additional time for all journeys which involve the use of A706, Lanark during the period indicated and that they plan their journey accordingly.

“Your patience and understanding during the works are much appreciated and we hope that the long-term benefits will be valued by all road users.”
