Durham Restaurant Week 2026 to return at end of January

The event, from January 30 to February 6, will give locals and visitors the chance to sample the city’s varied cuisine at lowered prices.

Paul Howard from organisers Durham BID said: “This is the first restaurant week in 2026 and it is a real stabiliser of revenues after Christmas for businesses in Durham.

“The real aim is to bring people into restaurants in the city. It has really grown over the years.

“There are some really good offers where you can try something new or if there is a favourite of yours, to go back.

“If your favourite is not there (on the list of participating restaurants) then ask them to get involved”

Paul added he has fielded requests from venues outside of the city also asking to be involved.

While offers are still to be confirmed at the majority of venues across the city, residents will be able to dine at places like BBQ venue Notch, tasting restaurants Coarse and FIIK, and Rio Brazilian Steakhouse at a discounted price.

It also gives businesses a chance to attract new customers.
