EastEnders star Nicholas Bailey joins Scarlett Moffatt, Melanie Blatt and Jodie Ounsley in the festive special
EastEnders star Nicholas Bailey has been revealed as the fourth celebrity set to strut his stuff in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special, which is scheduled to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this festive season.
Famed for his role as Dr Anthony Trueman in the soap, Nicholas first graced Walford 25 years ago, becoming a regular until 2003. After making sporadic appearances over the years, he made a return to EastEnders earlier this year.
Now, the actor will be trading the cobbles of Albert Square for the glitz and glamour of the Strictly Christmas ballroom, partnered with professional dancer Luba Mushtuk. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter.
Boasting an acting career that spans over three decades, Nicholas has featured in other iconic series such as Death in Paradise, Casualty, The Archers, Coronation Street and Miranda.
His theatre work includes extensive performances across the UK and in the West End, with credits including Dream Girls and Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap.
Nicholas Bailey expressed his excitement: “‘I’m really excited to be doing this, almost as excited as my wife and daughters are!
“Hopefully I’ll do them, Albert Square and Luba proud. Bring on the dance floor.”
This year’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special will be a festive showdown, with six couples vying for the title of Strictly Christmas Champion under the glitterball.
Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will host the yuletide extravaganza for the last time, following their announcement that they will be leaving the show in the new year.
Once again returning to the Strictly ballroom will be Head Judge Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke who will be ready to offer heaps of advice, festive spirit and perhaps a few lumps of coal.
The studio audience will cast their votes and ultimately determine the winner of the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas 2025 special.
Nicholas will join the already announced Scarlett Moffatt, Melanie Blatt and Jodie Ounsley (aka Fury) in the festive line-up for Strictly.
The final two celebrities participating in the 2025 Strictly Christmas special will be revealed on Strictly: It Takes Two on Thursday, November 27 at 6.30pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Christmas.
