Ed Sheeran lookalike to open Bolton church’s Christmas event

The church in Halliwell will be hosting its Christmas Fair and Christmas Tree Festival on Saturday (November 29), with a special guest appearance from ‘Ed Sheeran’ (lookalike Ty Jones).

The event will run from 10am to 2pm, and ‘Ed Sheeran’ will officially open the festival, judge the decorated trees, and be available for photographs during the day.

Visitors can browse a variety of stalls offering Christmas gifts and treats, and children can meet Santa in his grotto.

There will be a tombola, raffle, refreshments and more during the day.

The Christmas Tree Festival, which began last year, has expanded for 2025 with around 30 trees donated and decorated by Bolton businesses and charities.

The trees will be on display at the church until January.
