Elderly woman dies in Sandwood Park Guisborough house fire

Emergency services were called to Sandwood Park around 7.45pm on Monday (January 5) after the blaze broke out.

Sadly, the body of an elderly woman was found inside the home.

Her next of kin have been informed, Cleveland Police said. A spokesperson added: “Our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.”

The road remained cordoned off overnight and into Tuesday (January 6) with a joint fire and police investigation underway.

Cleveland Fire Brigade has been contacted for comment.
