Locals reported seeing two police cars and two ambulances in the busy city centre area, though exact details of the disturbance are as yet unknown.
An incident has taken place in Glasgow city centre tonight, sparking a major emergency response. The event, the nature of which is not yet known, unfolded on West Nile Street and Gordon Street on Friday, November 28.
Emergency services, including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service, rushed to the scene. It is not known how many people were involved in the incident, if any, or whether anyone required medical treatment.
Several emergency vehicles were spotted on the busy streets, full of bars, clubs and restaurants, according to Glasgow Live.
Locals reported seeing two police cars and two ambulances parked up on the road near Glasgow Central Station and just a stone’s throw away from Buchanan Street, the city’s main shopping area, at around 7.40pm.
Pictures shared with Glasgow Live show multiple emergency vehicles lined up along both streets, with some of the police officers and paramedics getting out their vehicles to inspect the surroundings.
Passers-by can be seen walking in the background despite the disturbance. It is not yet known whether the matter has been resolved but it is understood crews are still on scene.
Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
