Moira Dingle learns what Celia’s been up to after a surprise phone call
Emmerdale’s Natalie Robb opened up about what’s to come for Moira as she realises Celia’s been lying to her face.
The actress made her Emmerdale debut as Moira Dingle 16 years ago in 2009. She was introduced as part of the Barton family who took over the running of Butlers farm.
In recent weeks, Moira has been working alongside villain Celia Daniels, with no idea that she’s been using her farmland to exploit vulnerable people and use them as slaves.
Bear Wolf is one of the individuals who is trapped in Celia’s cruel world with the help of Ray. However, the tide could be changing after Moira makes a discovery.
In upcoming episodes, Moira’s curiosity leads her to discover that her and Celia’s business arrangement isn’t quite what it seems, as Celia has been forging her signature on invoices for huge amounts of turkeys. When Moira confronts Celia over the fraudulent invoices, Celia covers her alarm and instead manages to use Moira’s justified anger to discredit the accusations.
After Celia successfully manages to look like the injured party and avoid responding to her accusations, Moira’s left shouting after her to stay away from her business.
Moira fears after slapping Celia she’ll be the one facing legal consequences rather than her dishonest business partner. Moira’s determined to bring Celia’s shady operation down but uneasy about confronting Celia.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News and other press, Natalie shared: “Moira’s like I’ll just go up and try and find Celia because she doesn’t answer any of her calls, and then I turn up at the farm and then I get a real shock because then I see the state of it.
“There’s just all this debris and rubbish right lying around the place that you just wouldn’t be able to have on your farm you’ve got to be very clean and by the book, really, and hygiene and stuff, especially when you’re dealing with poultry.
“So it’s a bit of a shock to Moira, and then she just starts to get this sinking feeling, and obviously when she goes inside to the farm, that’s when she finds the invoices that she’s been fiddling.”
She added: “Moira slaps her. She loses the control just for that split second. One, she’s deeply hurt that she’s got it wrong. And two, she’s referring to something that was actually a very traumatic experience to Moira. And she’s just had enough and she just can’t believe the betrayal.
“She deeply regrets it because it’s in front of people. Right. And she knows it could be something that Celia would later use against her.”
When asked what’s coming up for Moira, Natalie teased: “I can’t really say, but it’s just… A rollercoaster.
“There’s going to be a lot of Celia damage, let’s put it that way, that’s going to take time to repair, if at all.”
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
