Grace Dent has joined Celebrity MasterChef as a new judge and she’s certainly making her mark

* Grace was in the Australian jungle two years ago after securing a place on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! – before exiting the show prematurely on medical grounds. At the time, ITV praised her as a “great campmate” but did not say exactly what had forced Grace to leave the camp. Grace released a lengthy statement days later. She claimed she was “removed” from the reality show but wouldn’t give any more information.
* Grace made a major lifestyle change before her gig as a judge on Celebrity MasterChef. More than a year before replacing Gregg Wallace, the 52-year-old made a change after eating around 4,000 calories by 10am – giving up booze. The star explained on the Glad We Had This Chat podcast in July 2024: “I’m three years sober. I think three years ago I realised I couldn’t outrun my diet, no matter how much I walked.” Grace said that shortly after giving up alcohol her weight had “started to drop right off”.
* Grace has a partner called Charles and the couple became engaged in 2021 after two years together, with the star admitting in a interview shortly after the proposal how besotted she was with her beau. “With my man, Charles, I think almost every day whenever I look at him: ‘How did I pull this off?’” she admitted to Kate Thornton’s podcast, White Wine Question Time.
* Grace is getting used to a “life-changing thing” – fame. She told Hello! Magazine: “People keep approaching me and clutching my arm and saying that they’re so happy about it.” She added: “It’s a life-changing thing. You can be a little bit well known in London, but with the MasterChef audience… you’ve got no privacy ever again.”
* Grace won over loyal Celebrity MasterChef within minutes of making her debut as judge earlier this month. Grace had previously been a guest critic on the TV series and it seems people loved Gregg Wallace’s replacement with fans rushing to support her with comments like: “I love Grace Dent she’ll smash this presenting role.”
