Extra flooding pumps on standby in Norton, Malton & Old Malton
North Yorkshire Council said it is working with other agencies.
A spokesperson for the council said: “This is a precautionary measure based on current forecasts.”
The Environment Agency has already issued a red warning for Buttercrambe Mill at Buttercrambe Bridge.
A spokesperson said: “We are closely monitoring the situation. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one .
They added: “River levels remain high and flooding is possible today. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers, particularly in the Low Marishes area. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.”
