A thug who stabbed a man has been jailed after his “sustained and violent attack” was caught on CCTV. Steven Holland, 54, appeared at Cambridge Crown Court on December 3 and was sentenced to four years and two months in prison.

Holland pleaded guilty to wounding with intent. The 54-year-old told Cambridgeshire Police officers that he tried to help the victim when he went to a property off Tenison Road, Cambridge on January 29, 2024.

However, CCTV caught Holland repeatedly hitting, kicking and stabbing a 50-year-old man. The victim had visited the property to find his friend, but he was immediately attacked by Holland.

After the initial assault, Holland then dragged the victim into a walkway and went back to his home. He then returned and continued the attack, despite the victim trying to walk away.

When the victim was found by paramedics, he had suffered a broken nose, two black eyes, a neck wound, knife wounds to his face, broken ribs and bruising to his body. He received treatment at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge.

DC Morgan French said: “This was a sustained and violent attack which left a man with serious injuries. Hopefully with Holland behind bars the victim can continue the process of recovering from the trauma of this horrific attack.”
