Family pay heartbreaking tribute to ‘craziest, funniest’ dad killed in horror crash with van as 27-year-old also dies

THE family of a dad who tragically died in a horror crash have paid tribute to him, calling him their “whole world”.
David Evans, 55, died alongside Patrick Shaughnessy, 27, after their Land Rover collided with a Ford Transit on the A614, near Holme-on-Spalding Moor, Yorkshire at around 10pm on January 18.
The driver of the Ford was rushed to hospital for injuries which are “believed to be life changing”.
In a tribute released by Humberside Police, David’s family hailed him as “the craziest, funniest man you could ever meet”.
They said: “Dave, known to so many as Devis, was my whole world.
“He was my rock, my soulmate, and my best friend.
“He wanted to get married this year and had big plans for us, and with his children.
“Dave had an infectious aura and could light up any room the moment he walked in. It was impossible not to love him.
“He had the biggest heart and was the craziest, funniest man you could ever meet.
“No matter how bad your day was, Dave would always find a way to make you laugh.
“He adored his children, Joe, Libby, Dominic and Josh with every inch of his being.
“They were his absolute pride and joy.
“We are all utterly destroyed by what has happened.
“Dave meant the world to everyone who knew him, and no one will ever replace him.”
David’s family are being supported by specially trained officers at this time.
The family of Patrick Shaughnessy also paid poignant tribute to a man celebrated as “a deeply loved son, grandson and proud new daddy taken from us far too soon.”
They continued: “His kindness, laughter and fierce love for his family and friends will be carried in our hearts forever.”
Humberside Police have urged witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact them.
