Fire crews called to roof fire in Skeldergate, York

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said two crews, one from Acomb and one from York, were called to Skeldergate just after 2pm today (January 23) after reports of a fire on a roof.

“Crews used a 9 metre ladder and one hose reel jet to extinguish, fire damage was only external of the property, but crews did do an internal check to ensure the fire did not spread,” said a spokesperson for the service.
