Fire crews rush to Cambs hospital after reports of car fire

The cause of the fire was accidental

Crews were called to a car fire close to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge this morning. Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Keith Day Road, Queen Edith’s Ward, to reports of a car fire.

The incident took place at about 10am this morning. Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service shared: “At 10.01am on Tuesday (13) a crew from Cambridge was called to a car fire on Keith Day Road in Cambridge. Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.

“The crew returned to their station by 11.10am. The cause of the fire was accidental.”
