But beyond checking your passport photo accurately identify you, most Brits want to ensure they look as good as possible in their picture – as it’s only renewed once every 10 years.

TikTok influencer Georgia Barratt and photo experts Max Spielmann both have tips to help you get a picture perfect passport photo. In a viral video, Georgia takes her viewers through a detailed guide of how to achieve a snatched passport look.

1. Groom the eyebrows

Starting with the brows Georgia uses an eyebrow gel to give them a full, lifted look to help frame the face.

2. Prep the face

Hydrating primers will help give your face a glowy base, ensuring your appearance shines when taking your photo. Georgia then suggests using a full coverage foundation combination, before using a lighter concealer to help carve out the brows.

George said: “I use a lighter concealer to help carve out my brows to give that lifting effect.”

3. Apply ‘over the top’ contour

Contouring above the temples, high points of your cheeks, nose, chin, and jaw line will help sculpt and add dimension to the face by mimicking natural light and shadow to help show off your features.

Leading UK photo printing chain Max Spielmann suggests keeping your make-up as natural as possible to ensure your photo still resembles you, while enhancing your features.

Max Spielmann said: “Make sure your make-up is as natural as possible, and definitely don’t use it to cover up any distinctive marks. You might be tempted to get all glammed up, but the most important thing is that your passport photo looks like you.

“Basically, this means you shouldn’t do anything dramatic, and instead go for a more neutral look that enhances your features.”

4. Conceal, blush and bake

In her own tutorial Georgia adds a lighter concealer in between her eyebrows and the corners of her eyes to help ‘lift and brighten’ the upper areas of her face.

A pink face applied to the upper cheekbones will help brighten the face, followed by setting the face with baking powder to ensure the makeup doesn’t budge.

5. Lashes and lips

For mascara, Georgia focused on the outer corners of her eyes to help elongate her lashes and open the eyes. Subtly overlining your lips and a glossy lip product will ensure your mouth pops in the passport photo.
