PSNI officers have arrested a 35-year-old man after two incidents this week of alleged indecent exposure
The man was arrested today on suspicion of indecent exposure and he remains in custody at this time. Police are appealing for witnesses and information in relation to both incidents. The first incident was documented after a report was made on Tuesday, January 13, that a man indecently exposed himself in the Culmore Road area of Derry. This allegedly occurred at approximately 3.30-3.40pm in the vicinity of a school.

The suspect in this incident was described as a black male, approximately 6ft and wore a blue coat, blue chino-type trousers, dark-coloured shoes, had a tight short haircut and with an athletic build, and was aged between 30 and 40 years old.
The second occurrence was reported at 1.40am today, Wednesday, January 14. A woman is reported to have been followed by a man she didn’t know while walking on Great James Street approximately 20 minutes earlier. This male is described as having a dark skin tone, wore a black top and grey bottoms and followed the woman, while walking a distance behind her.
The woman was able to make her way to safety, but has been left distressed by the incident. Police patrols were conducted within the Great James Street area and nearby streets, however, there was no further sightings of this male. Inspector Robb said: “We take reports of this nature incredibly seriously and officers will be on patrol to provide reassurance. We urge anyone with information to please report it to us so we can investigate fully. “In relation to the Culmore Road incident, the area would have been busy given the time of day and police are appealing to witnesses or anyone out walking, or travelling through the area and who may have relevant dash cam footage, to contact them on 101, quoting reference 1171 of 13/01/26. “For the Great James Street incident, police would like to hear from witnesses or anyone who saw a man matching the description in the vicinity around that time, this morning. They’d also like to hear from anyone who may have captured any kind of recorded footage. Officers can be contacted by calling 101 quoting reference 71 of 14/01/26.”
