Lots of important dates have been leaked for Fortnite in 2026.
It feels like an eternity ago since we got our last Fortnite update. The last big update from developer Epic Games kicked off the Winterfest event, which ran over the Christmas period.
Fans itching for new content will be pleased to hear that the next big update is scheduled to release this week, complete with a massive new crossover worthy of its own dedicated season.
According to Fortnite insider Hypex, Epic Games will launch a crossover with South Park this Friday.
The new South Park content is scheduled to launch after the release of update 39.20, which has a January 9 release date on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC and mobile.
It’s unclear if the South Park skins will be available to purchase immediately after the update goes live, or as part of the first post-update item shop refresh.
The South Park crossover is said to include multiple character skins from the beloved animated series, not to mention various mythics and items that could impact the storm.
There are also reports of a Chainsaw Man crossover, which is expected to release at some point during the current season.
Speaking of important release dates, upcoming Fortnite seasons have also been dated for the next 12 months.
Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 2 is expected to launch on March 5, followed by Season 3 on April 30.
Interestingly, however, Fortnite Chapter 8 is pencilled in to start on November 28, which is just a week or so after the release of GTA 6 on November 19.
Will Fortnite suffer from a reduced playerbase? Will Fortnite and GTA organise a crossover? Will GTA 6 be delayed again?
Only time will tell.
