Frank Warren in major career change as he moves into completely different sport with exciting new partnership
BOXING supremo Frank Warren has announced a stunning partnership with The Jockey Club.
Warren’s iconic Queensberry Promotions have promoted some of the biggest boxing events in the UK over the last 25 years.
And they’re set to turn their hand to horse racing by promoting next summer‘s Betfred Derby Festival at Epsom Downs Racecourse.
The Jockey Club has turned to Queensberry to help “drive attendance” for the event and “engagement with the local community” after being blown away by their numerous successful sporting events down the years.
A joint statement read: “Well, it looks like we’re off to the races. Queensberry and The Jockey Club today announces an exciting new partnership to help promote one of the most prestigious and historic British sporting events in the calendar.
“The Betfred Derby Festival at Epsom Downs Racecourse, Friday 5th- Saturday 6th June 2026.
“As part of this, a brand new fan and family zone, DerbyFest is being introduced for 2026 in the heart of The Hill.
“Completely free to enter, DerbyFest will be run in partnership with Queensberry – famous for promoting some of the world’s biggest sporting events – to drive attendance and engagement with the local community.”
The partnership was announced on Friday afternoon in a hilarious advert featuring Hall of Fame promoter Warren.
In the clip, Warren reeled off all the iconic venues he’s promoted events at.

And he even dropped in several boxing and horse racing references before it became apparent that he was getting into the sport.
The 73-year-old said: “I want room, room for thousands. A proper heavyweight occasion.
“If this place can’t handle it, I’m not interested.
“Room for a roar that will shake the ground. A place where legends happen, where you’ve got kids on shoulders.
“Where you stand there and think, wow, they’ve done it again.
“Because once we’re out of the stalls, there’s no reining this in. It looks like we’re off the races, my old son.”
Avid horse racing fan Warren was quick to express his delight at the partnership after the announcement of the news.
He said: “My family and I worked on the Epsom Downs Racecourse going back over 70 years ago.
“So to now be trusted with one of Britain’s most iconic sporting events there is a true honour.
“Make no mistake, we’re not just participating; we fully intend to knock this out of the park.
