Frantic search for missing boy, 15, with cops concerned for teen’s welfare

COPS have launched an urgent hunt to find a missing teen who vanished from a popular seaside town two days ago.
Concerns are growing for Layton Beattie, 15, who disappeared from West Kirby, Merseyside, on Friday afternoon.

Young Layton, from the Wirral, was last spotted in the area just after 2pm.
The teenager has been described as 6ft tall, of a slim build, with short brown hair and a pale complexion.
Layton is believed to have been wearing blue Nike trainers, a blue tracksuit and blue jacket at the time of his disappearance.
Merseyside Police confirmed the teen has links to Birkenhead, Liverpool city centre and Manchester.
In a statement, the force said: “We are appealing for help in finding a 15 year-old boy who is missing from home in Wirral.
“Layton Beattie was last seen at 2.10pm on Friday 12 December in the West Kirkby area.
“He is described a 6ft tall, of slim build, with short brown hair, clean shaven and a pale complexion.
“When last seen he was wearing blue Nike Air Max trainers, a blue Tracksuit and a blue puffer jacket.
“He is known to frequent Birkenhead, Liverpool city centre and Manchester.
“Please pass on any sightings of Layton or any other information to Merseyside Police Contact Centre or 101.”
Layton’s disappearance comes as cops search for another missing teenager, Jemimah Jones.
The 13-year-old – who cops say may not be wearing shoes – was last seen boarding a train from Tilbury, Essex on Friday evening.
Essex Police has released images and a full description of the missing teenager.
The force said: “We’re working hard to find Jemimah Jones who’s missing from Tilbury.
“We now know the 13-year-old, from Cardiff, boarded a Southend-bound train at platform 2 at Tilbury station at 10.24pm.
“We’re carrying out extensive CCTV checks at stations along the train line and we’re liaising with a number of other police forces.”
