Thick, black smoke can be seen cascading the evening sky while orange flames climb the building.
Drone footage has revealed the extent of damage caused by a fire which has ravaged a building in Glasgow city centre.
Fire crews were met with a “well developed” blaze on the fourth floor of a four-storey building housing the Revolver hotel.
Flames and smoke have been spotted billowing from the building roof on nearby Virginia Street. The Scottish Fire and Rescue has confirmed no one has been injured as a result of the blaze.
Aerial footage, taken by Vyro Media, shows dramatic scenes unfolding from above. In one zoomed-in clip, multiple firefighters can be seen decked out in full safety gear and armed with hoses trying to batter a door down.
The fire looks to be contained within an out-house-looking building, which is situated next to patio furniture including tables, chairs, and umbrellas and appears to make up an outdoor seating area for a bar or restaurant.
Another angle shows an Aerial Ladder Platform, a specialised fire engine with a hydraulic boom and large basket used by firefighters to reach high floors for rescues, helping to bring the situation under control.
The videographer captioned the post: “Flames and smoke were visible from street level as crews worked from above, tackling the blaze on the roof and preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings.
“A rare and intense sight in the heart of the city. Moments like this remind you how quickly things can change – and how fast emergency crews respond.”

A number of buildings close to the fire have been evacuated as a precaution. The Trades Hall, House of Gods, Spires Serviced Suites and Homeless Project Scotland have all been evacuated as a result of the huge blaze.
Ian Diamond, of Bigglestones Books, an independent book shop located at 57 Glassford Street, told the Record that he was leaving work for the day at 6.30pm when he began to smell smoke.
He said: “Crowds of people had been evacuated from the building into Virginia Street. Staff from affected businesses told us that everyone had been evacuated safely but the crowd watching was really in shock.
“Several LGBTQ businesses will be very badly affected by this fire. Polo Lounge, Riding Room, Delmonicas and Revolver Hotel. House of Gods and nearby homeless shelter are in real danger.
“Staff, performers, and punters are wondering what this means for their livelihood and historic safe space.”
Glassford Street in Glasgow has been shut due to the fire. In a statement, Glasgow City Council urged road users to avoid the road while fire crews battle the flames.
ScotRail said services through Argyle Street and High Street stations have not been impacted by the event.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were alerted at 6:19pm on Saturday, December 27 to reports of a fire within a commercial premises on Virginia Street in Glasgow.
“Operations Control mobilised six appliances to the scene where we were met with a well developed fire affecting the fourth floor of a court 4 storey building.
“There are no reported casualties and crews remain at the scene.”
