Glasgow street cordoned off after man found injured as police pictured at scene

Emergency services were called to Maxwell Street in Bailllieston after the alarm was raised at around 5.50pm on Friday.

A street in Glasgow has been cordoned off after a man was found injured. Emergency services raced to Maxwell Street in Bailllieston after the alarm was raised at around 5.50pm on Friday, December 5.

Officers were responding to reports of a man having been found injured. The condition of the man is currently unclear. The road was quickly taped off and has been closed at the junction of Whirlow Road and Main Street.

Pictures taken from the area show a number of uniformed cops in attendance. Two police cars could be seen stopped at the scene alongside a van.

A bystander said: “Police have taped off an area beside the Costa Coffee and a local Chinese takeaway. There were a couple of ambulances here earlier too but they left in a hurry and took someone away to the hospital.

“Four police cars remain at the scene and a number of uniformed officers are standing behind the cordon.” An investigation has been launched at the scene and officers have asked the public to avoid the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Maxwell Street is closed at the junction of Whirlow Road and Main Street in Baillieston after a man was found injured around 5.50pm on Friday, December 5, 2025. Emergency services are in attendance, and the public is asked to avoid the area.”
