Granit Xhaka row with home fans overshadows West Ham’s win over Sunderland

West Ham are unchanged from their last minute 2-1 victory away at Tottenham, but midfielder Lucas Paqueta is absent from the squad, with the 28-year old Brazil international the subject of interest from Brazilian side Flamengo, amid a potential departure from the London Stadium. Last weekend’s match-winner Callum Wilson is on the bench.

West Ham United: Areola, Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Todibo, Scarles, Bowen, Soucek, Fernandes, Summerville, Pablo Felipe, Castellanos.
Subs: Hermansen, Walker-Peters, Kilman, Ward-Prowse, Wilson, Diouf, Magassa, Potts, Kante.

Sunderland will be without captain Granit Xhaka for this match, after the 33-year old picked up an ankle injury in last weekend’s 2-1 home victory against Crystal Palace. Eliezer Mayenda replaces him in the starting XI.

Sunderland: Roefs, Mukiele, Ballard, Alderete, Mandava, Hume, Sadiki, Le Fee, Mundle, Mayenda, Brobbey.
Subs: Patterson, Cirkin, Geertruida, Talbi, Rigg, O’Nien, Isidor, Diarra, Adingra.
Referee: Thomas Bramall (Sheffield)
