Harriet's Dramatic Traitors Banishment Inspires Hilarious Meme

This article contains major spoilers for the latest instalment of The Traitors.

Harriet’s dramatic departure from the Traitors castle on Wednesday night has inspired a lot of reactions on social media.

The most recent instalment of the Bafta-winning reality show began with the thriller author and former barrister convinced that she had rumbled Rachel as a member of the Traitors, and gearing up to present her evidence to the rest of the group.

Unfortunately for her, that’s not quite how things played out for her.

Once seated at the round table, Harriet began laying out exactly what pointed to Rachel’s Traitor status, but as the rest of the group were less convinced, she began throwing out a few more rogue names.

As the vote approached, Harriet encouraged the rest of the cast to write down her name if they didn’t believe her, hoping that the revelation that she is a Faithful might lead them to vote out Rachel next.

Once Harriet’s banishment had aired, fans of the show began sharing their disbelief at the jaw-dropping scenes on social media, with the contrast between Harriet at the beginning and end of the episode inspiring what’s become one of our favourite memes of the entire series…

Despite the way that things played out for her on her last day in the castle, Harriet has insisted she has no regrets about her actions.

“On the one hand, I’m gutted not to have got further,” she said in an interview published after banishment. “I haven’t won therefore I’ve lost so it’s hard not to see it that way. But on the other hand, I could not have asked for more action!”

Wednesday’s episode ended on a cliffhanger, as Traitors Rachel and Stephen contemplated “murdering” either James, Adam, or Jessie, unaware exactly which of them had bagged shields during that day’s mission.

The Traitors continues on Thursday night at 8pm on BBC One.
