When a caring stranger helped a homeless man out, he managed to turn back the clock 20 years. The act of kindness has since gone viral across social media
A haircut can completely change how people view you. While it may seem superficial to get hung-up on your appearance, having a fresh trim can give you the confidence you need to take on life. Sadly, it can also mean people judge you less.
For that reason, a kind man has been offering to do homeless people’s hair for free. Lee Hutchinson, from Ireland, films the encounters for his social media channels to help raise awareness for rough sleeping and the power of a haircut.
And a recent transformation has left people with “goosebumps” and tears in their eyes – as Lee managed to make one of his clients look “20 years younger”.
In a short clip that’s been viewed 4.9million times on Instagram, Lee said: “POV: Beautiful transformation incoming.”
The video showed the client before and after his haircut – and the difference is remarkable. Lee added: “He looks like a new person! Changing one life today…”
In the footage, Lee approaches the homeless man and gives him a chair to sit on as he works his magic. He begins by removing his grey top, completely cutting his hair and shaving his beard.
Next he grabs a bucket of soap and water as he begins scrubbing him from head-to-toe. He then gives him a towel as the pair smile at each other.
Finally he gives the man a new wardrobe which consists of a pair of leather trainers, grey trousers, white top and overshirt.
After Lee’s work is done, the man looks at himself in the mirror and is totally taken aback by the transformation. To complete the day, the barber even takes his client out for a free meal.
The video has garnered more than 179,000 likes and 5,700 comments since it was posted – and many praised Lee for the work that he does.
One person wrote: “Love this. Even just starting in our hometowns with something like this is amazing.”
Another said: “Goosebumps! What an unbelievable transformation. That man looks 20 years younger and his eyes are shining. Bless you.”
And a third added: “In a world that grows harsher every day, the presence of genuine and kind people feels like a beam of light a quiet source of hope in the darkness.”
