The duke said security concerns mean it is ‘impossible’ for him to bring Meghan and their children back to the UK safely but now Prince Harry’s security arrangements in the UK are being reviewed
The Duke of Sussex’s security measures during his UK visits are reportedly under review sparking hopes for a Harry and Charles reunion.
Following her appointment, Harry penned a letter to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, formally requesting a risk assessment from the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec), overseen by the Home Office, according to a source close to the duke in October.
For the first time since 2020, the Home Office has now commissioned a threat assessment. This development follows the duke’s unsuccessful appeal in May against the dismissal of his High Court claim against the Home Office over Ravec’s decision that he should receive a different level of taxpayer-funded protection while in the country.

The legal challenge arose after Harry and the Duchess of Sussex relocated first to Canada, then California, following their announcement to step back as senior royals.
Harry stated that the Court of Appeal’s decision has made it “impossible” for him to safely bring Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, back to the UK. Ravec has now directed its Risk Management Board to re-evaluate his threat level The Sun reports.
The newspaper reported that the process is already in progress, with a decision anticipated next month. A Government spokesperson commented: “The UK Government’s protective security system is rigorous and proportionate.
“It is our long-standing policy not to provide detailed information on those arrangements, as doing so could compromise their integrity and affect individuals’ security.”
During Harry’s most recent visit to the UK in September, a “known stalker” reportedly came “within feet” of him twice, as per a report in The Telegraph.
