The YouTube star became favourite to win the ITV reality show when he headed into the jungle at the start of the 2025 series
Angry Ginge’s mum has said she has been receiving ‘all sorts of messages’ during his stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.
The YouTube star quickly became a favourite to win the ITV reality show when he headed into the jungle at the start of the 2025 series back on November 16.
Ginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwhistle, was brought up by his single mum, Michelle, alongside his sister on a council estate in Salford. It was in his bedroom that he first started live-streaming himself playing football video games under the username Angryginge13.
He has now amassed more than five million followers across his accounts and is continuing to win people over during his time on I’m A Celeb, which is set to come to an end with the grand final this Sunday (December 7).
Viewers recently saw Ginge open up about a former girlfriend who broke up with him while he was streaming content. He explained before he asked her to be his girlfriend, he had “rose petals, from the front door all the way up the stairs and then it opened to my room, there’s a teddy bear, there’s a rose and then I officially asked her to be my girlfriend.”
The 24-year-old, who hails from Salford, then added to fellow campmate that said girlfriend then broke up with him via text when he was on a live stream, saying: “I had to carry on for six more hours.”
Now, Michelle has revealed to The Sun that her son is getting a lot of attention. “I get all sorts of messages from girls on social media. It’s hilarious and heartwarming in equal measure,” she shared.
“Some are very sweet, saying they love him, think he’s hilarious, or that he’s their dream man. Others are jokingly telling me I’ll be their future mother-in-law.”
Michelle also admitted that she found it difficult to watch Ginge become tearful on screen last week as he looked at a picture of his family. She said: “It was absolutely heartbreaking. You could see how genuinely upset he was, this wasn’t just a wobble or a few tears, he was properly sobbing, and as his mum that cut right through me.
“Morgan is normally so strong and upbeat, so to see him that vulnerable, missing everyone at home, it really hit me. I just wanted to reach through the screen, sit beside him and give him the biggest hug until he felt safe again.”
